Tier 1 -Post Study Work- Qualifying Criteria
The Post Study Work visa replaces the previous International Graduate Scheme (IGS) and the Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme, allowing successful applicants to transfer into any other Tier 1 category and will also be able to transfer into Tier 2 which replaces the previous Work Permit system.
The Post Study Work visa is issued for only 2 years and does not allow applicants to extend their time in the UK under this visa and time spent in the UK under this category does not count towards residency.
Applicants applying under this category still need to score a minimum score of 75 points:
-Applicants must have successfully completed a course in the UK: 20 Points
A recognized UK Bachelor’s Degree
A recognized UK Postgraduate level degree
A UK Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate
A HND qualification from a recognized Scottish institution
-The educational institution must be either:
A recognized or listed UK Institution
Included on the Tier 4 sponsors register : 20 Points
-The qualification must have been obtained by the applicant in the UK with one of the following UK Immigration status options:
Tier 4 Student Visa
As a dependent of another main applicant in the UK 20 Points
The application must be made within 12 months of obtaining the qualification: 15 points
English Proficiency
Post Study applicants who meet the above requirements will already have satisfied the English Language Requirement: 10 Points
Maintenance
Applicants for leave to remain in the United Kingdom must have £800 of funds available
Applicants for entry clearance (outside the UK) to come to the United Kingdom must have £2800: 10 Points
